Ardwick Green “Old Boys”, 1907
Pictured in the schoolyard, just outside the rear of John Rylands’ old house, is a large group of old boys and staff from the Industrial School. Their happy demeanour would suggest that their stay at the institution had been successful. All appear to be smartly dressed, with some sporting a uniform perhaps of a band.
Joinery class, 1908
Ardwick Green Industrial School, Manchester, from a vintage picture postcard mailed in 1908. The photograph shows boys working in a joinery class as part of their training to learn a trade.
