The team reached the final of the English Schools’ Trophy but finished runners-up to Swansea on aggregate.
Manchester also reached the final of the Lancashire Cup, which they shared with Liverpool following a draw.
Norbert (“Nobby”) Lawton also played for Lancashire Boys. After signing for Manchester United, he had a successful professional career. More about that later.
