This picture gives an interesting view of the old, disused and derelict buildings in the background, where loose slates, crumbling walls and rotten gutters posed a safety problem to pupils and were of great concern to Mr Rocca. Note the light, circular patch on the brickwork, left, where a clock was once positioned. To the right can be seen the open-sided former gymnasium.
