St Aloysius’ R.C. Primary School
Situated at the top end of Harkness Street (formerly Park Street), a short walk from our main building, this former school was used by St Gregory’s in the early 1970s presumably to relieve accommodation pressure in the main building. It was used by second year classes in 1970-71 and by sixth-form students for a spell in the school year 1971-72. Sixth formers had the run of the place and used an old classroom as a common room where they were allowed to play music ranging from rock through to classical. The students were happy in that they had their own dedicated area. They still had to walk to the main building for meals but most sixth formers either went outside of the school or brought their own sandwiches.
