Although of rather poor quality, this photograph shows boys from the 1948 intake working in Mr Fred Andrew’s ground-floor woodwork room. Brian Booth, centre, and the other boys pose cheerfully as they work at their benches. The boy in the foreground to the left of Brian is Peter O’Connor; the boy in the right-hand corner of the room is Thomas Wilkins; and the boy in front of him is M. Burton.
